ABOUT US
Bremen Bible Church meets in a building that was built in 1924, but we have been an Independent Bible Church since 1979. We study the Bible, because we believe that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:!6-17) God's Word, the Bible, is so important that Jesus said of it, "Man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4)
As a fellowship of believers, we also support and participate - in work that shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ - both locally and afar. We joyfully support missionaries around the world. We strive to give our support in prayer, physical support, in encouragement through correspondence, and also by sharing in a financial way.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)

STATEMENT OF FAITH
1. WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the Word Of God written under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is a supernaturally given revelation from God Himself, concerning Himself, His being, nature, character, will and purposes; and concerning man - his nature, need, duty and destiny. It is inerrant, plenary, and it is the final authority for all that we believe and for how we live.
Psalm 19:7; Matthew 5:17-18; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21

2. WE BELIEVE in one God, holy infinite, and personal, creator of all things, who exists eternally in three persons *Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the all-powerful and all-knowing sustainer of the universe. His just and loving purposes are always accomplished.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 23:1-6, 33:6-9, 90:1-4, 102:12, 24-27, 119:90-91, 146:5-6, 147:5; Isaiah 26:4, 42:8, 45:5-6, 21; Jeremiah 10:10, 23:24; Luke 1:37; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 19:6 *Although the term Trinity does not appear in God's Word, we believe that the truth and the reality of the Trinity appears through the Bible. (e.g., Genesis 1:26, 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)

3. WE BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ who is true God and true man. He shared in creation with the Father; was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and was born of the Virgin Mary. He died as the final sacrifice for our sins, was buried and arose physically from the dead on the third day. He ascended into Heaven, where He intercedes for His people. He will return personally for His church and will judge the living and the dead.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 20, 22-23; John 1:1-3, 20:28-29; Acts 1:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Timothy 2:5, 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-3,8, 10:10-12

4. WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, that He is God, and that His ministry is that of convicting unbelievers of their sin, and of their need of the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. He is instrumental in the quickening miracle of the new birth. He baptizes believer into the body of Christ, and he indwells, instructs, guides, empowers and seals them unto the day of redemption.
John 3:3,5, 6:63, 16:8,13; Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:9-16, 3:16, 12:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 4:30

5. WE BELIEVE that Satan is a spirit being. His existence is real, he is the enemy of God, the accuser and tempter of God's people and the deceiver of all men. His final and complete overthrow is certain and until that time he can exert vast power only as far as God allows.
Job 1:6-12; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 22:31-32; 2 Corinthians 11:14; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Revelation 12:10, 20:10

6. WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, after His likeness, but the whole human race fell with the fall of Adam. All men, until they accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, are lost, darkened in their understanding, alienated and spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins. They cannot see, nor enter into the Kingdom of God until they are born again of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the physical resurrection of the body. Believers will be raised to eternal joy and unbelievers to eternal judgement.
Genesis 1:26-27; John 3:3, 5:24; Romans 3:10-20, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:18-19; Revelation 20:15, 21:27

7. WE BELIEVE that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift we could never earn by any works on our part and is totally undeserved. As we, by faith, repent from our lives of sin to trust in God and in the atoning death and shed blood of Jesus Christ His Son, we are declared righteous and are born (again) of the Holy Spirit into the family of God. Salvation will result in the total abandonment of the old life and living a totally new life as a new creation, as a child of God - loving, and now obeying, the commands of our God by his very strength and life working through us and in us.
John 1:12-13, 15:4-5, 16; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 3:23, 5:1, 6:23, 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 4:13; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 3:9

8. WE BELIEVE that as Christians we are to be joined to a local church, which is symbolic of His body, through which he still works today. As members of His body, we are given gifts by the Holy Spirit as He so chooses, for the express purpose of enabling us to build up and edify one another and to minister to the needs of a hurting and dying world. We become members of the local body upon confirmation of our testimony and water baptism.*
We believe that Holy Communion, or the Lord's Supper, is clearly commanded and established by the Lord Jesus Christ for the sake of remembering His death and resurrection. We believe that "the bread and fruit of the vine" served in Holy Communion is symbolic of the body and blood of Christ. This should be observed regularly by born again believers, preceded always by self-examination.
Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
*Baptism follows conversion since it is symbolic of the burial of the old life and the raising of the new life in Christ (Romans 6:3,4). Baptism is by immersion when possible.
As members of the local body, we believe in supporting the meetings with our presence and our prayers. We believe that our meetings have a three-fold purpose: to reach up in worship to God; to reach in to equip the saints; and to reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 25:34-40; Romans 12:4-10; 1 Corinthians 12:7-18; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25

9. WE BELIEVE that as His children we are chosen priests of God, lights to the world, ambassadors of Jesus Christ and His Gospel of Grace. Therefore it is our personal responsibility to be involved as witnesses for Him to those around us as God gives us opportunities.
Matthew 5:13-16, 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; 1 Peter 2:9

10. WE BELIEVE that God's purpose for our lives is to glorify Him. The path to achieving that purpose is summed up in the two great commands: “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40 NASB)
